We've been hard at work on the next release of Pukka and are proud to announce two new features that we hope you'll love. While we don't yet have a final release, that's good news for you. Pukka is still a free beta and the demo period has been extended to March 31 as we continue to hammer out the kinks and make it all that it can be.
If you want to cut to the chase, download Pukka now!
The first new feature is a no-brainer -- tag auto-completion based on what you've used before. We've tested it with thousands of tags and are happy to report that it's lightning fast and you should have it in your bookmarking routine with no effort at all.
The second new feature sprang out of thinking about the South By Southwest conference. Code Sorcery is there right now (in our "day job" guise) and we got to thinking about how we could make social bookmarking, well, more social. So we're happy to announce Bonjour support in Pukka. Just pop open the Bonjour drawer and see all of the other Pukka users on your local network, along with all of their usernames. Double-click to visit their del.icio.us page. It couldn't be any simpler. Now, when you're at an event or gathering of like-minded social bookmarkers, you can tap into what's happening in a whole new way.
As always, feel free to leave a comment or question. If you prefer email, see the contact page. We'd like to hear what you think of Pukka!

The Bonjour feature is awesome -- it adds a whole new dimension to social bookmarking, especially at a conference like SXSW. That and tag completion have enhanced Pukka while keeping it nimble. Great stuff.
Quite nice!
If you ever decide to add support for Simpy, please let me know - I know at least 1 person who would love it! :)
Hey there! I hadn't heard of it, looked at the page briefly, and will check it out a bit more later. If the API is the same as del.icio.us, then it should be pretty easy -- I've been thinking about adding some choices. However, I'm also not sure what to make of this "fragmentation" of social bookmarks, so I'd be curious as to what you think about that.
Thanks for the comment and for trying Pukka.
I second the idea of adding support to multiple social bookmarking sites. That would make this application essential. The possibility of posting to more then one social bookmarking sites at once, and also having the tag support auto completion combined from both sounds quite intriguing.
Is there any reason why tag auto completion can't suck down our existing del.icio.us tag list, rather than only including those tags we've typed through Pukka? I was always impressed that an otherwise slick cocoa app like Cocoalicious could actually make posting so much *slower* than del.icio.us, in large part due to the lack of a proper, quick completion of all tags, and I was more than a little disappointed to see that Pukka is no different (and still way, way slower than the web interface).
Pukka should be grabbing all tags for each of your del.icio.us accounts, regardless of source. It uses the standard API call to fetch all of a user's tags.
Also, which part or parts specifically are slower than the web interface? I'm planning on optimizing some more prior to the final 1.0 and I'd be interested in hearing your experiences.
