At long last: browser integration!

Pukka bookmarklet

Since the beginning, there have been two features that many people have been requesting and waiting for in Pukka:

  1. Better integration with all web browsers
  2. Capture of the page title when posting

In the spirit of keeping things simple, we’ve implemented just one feature: both! Pukka now supports a bookmarklet format that lets you post from any browser (well, just about — IE doesn’t want to cooperate). This bookmarklet takes both the URL and the title of the current web page, posts it to Pukka, and focuses the tags field so that you’re ready to go!

In order to use the bookmarklet, just drag the following link to your browser’s bookmark bar and you should be ready to roll! Don’t click it, but rather, be sure to drag it or add its contents as a bookmark.

Pukka

We hope you enjoy this new feature and that it helps you post to del.icio.us all the faster. We are nearing the 1.0 release and have several more goodies in store, so stay tuned!

Great! I’ll use this a lot, instead of the current delicious bookmarklet.

Would be nice to also insert the selected text from the web page in the Description field.

is there a way to skip the ‘pukka added this…’ part everytime we add something to del.icio.us ? and the jumping icon ? maybe as a preference, as you did with the sound ?

apart from that it’s as fast as it gets. i’ll start using this on all browsers except flock (it’s faster, i believe) as soon as i finish typing this.

    cool app.

Maique — I’m developing that now; I just put out a private beta to some folks this morning. Should be ready soon.

Thanks for the feedback and glad you like it!

Great work Justin! I’m looking forward to seeing what you’ve got in store. The NNW pref for Pukka and bookmarklet close the loop.

    Thanks for this!
If I may, a feature request: integration with del.icio.us’ new private bookmarking.
This would be a great help.
Even better, a way to mark all sites with a particular tag as private would be huge!
    Thanks!

ad6am — it looks like the API calls for private bookmarking were just added, lagging behind the functionality a little bit. I’ll be looking into this as an option soon.
