I'm fairly certain that Meerkat can be used to remotely connect to a home network and a shared iTunes library.

It would be great if some cool HOWTOs such as the above were available on this site. I'm also certain such HOWTOs would inspire many more to want to use Meerkat.

Hi there, I am definitely

Hi there,

I am definitely planning some longer-form video tutorials in the vein of those on Meerkat's product page in the near future. iTunes use is high on the list :-)

In the meantime, the way to do this is get SSH to your iTunes machine working, then to create a "remote service available locally" tunnel to forward that machine's port 3689 to a port on your local machine. If you also enable iTunes Bonjour in the tunnel, it should show up in iTunes like a local computer would.

This is somewhat similar to the Bonjour video example on the above page. The only two keys are iTunes as the Bonjour type and 3689 as the remote machine's port to forward locally.

Thanks for the feedback.
