Early alpha of Meerkat 1.3. Main new feature will be better auto-reconnection.

Please make a backup of your ~/Library/Application Support/Meerkat folder before trying this build. It's probably easiest to make a zip file right in the Application Support folder.

  • First try at auto-reconnection when tunnels fail or won't start up. Only works on tunnels that have been successfully brought up at least once since their last edit.
  • Dropped Tiger support.

Again, please make a data backup! While 1.3 final will migrate your data properly, I can't guarantee that development versions will handle things well.

Please do not try this version if you are only experiencing issues with Meerkat! This is an alpha, likely very buggy, release for testing purposes only!

This version just displays

This version just displays "An error occurred when trying to save" twice then exits for me. 1.22 works fine.

Thanks for the report. It is an alpha, but sorry for the trouble. I'm putting quite a bit more work in before the next pre-release.

Quick fix

I've found if you get that error, just quit Meerkat and re-open it, then you'll be able to create new tunnels. Works for me..

Generally I've found that to be the case as well. With the alpha, though, it happens consistently.

Any plan to include multiple tunnels with one login?

Probably not in this release, but I'm expecting that to be in the next major release afterwords. Specifically, I'm thinking of tunnel groups, either for the same server or different servers, and being able to bring the groups up with a minimum of server connections and processes -- essentially, more than one tunnel on a server will use the same SSH process. Is that what you have in mind?

Hi
I must say that I hate the dialog box telling me that the connection was lost, with the "cancel" and "retry" buttons...
I am using a SMTP tunnel, and for some reason, I loose the link like every hour. So, I have to press "retry" each time, and the connection is restored.

An option to retry automatically after a given delay, without any dialog box, would be very appreciated.

@condereis: That is

@condereis: That is definitely in the works and is in active development now.
