Hello everybody,
i wanted to know if its possible to restrict the bonjour-casting to the computer which is running meerkat. I use meerkat in a big office to get private data from my homeserver and i dont want everybody to see my bonjour castings everytime i get some data. Did i miss something or is there really no such restriction thing. In my eyes, if its possible to broadcast to the whole local lan it cant be that hard to tell my mac that it should stop advertising my bonjour casting on the local lan.
Would be great to get some hints about that issue. Also commandline solutions are appreciated. Before using meerkat i did the tunneling by commandline anyway. Certainly meerkat makes things easyer and i really think that it is a great tool, but some more possibilities in fine-tuning would make it even more useful to me.
Cheers,
bendsch.
I understand what you're asking and the feature is already in the queue. Should be out in the next release.
I'll get in touch with you over email about a beta of this.
When will the latest version with this functionality be available? I'd like this functionality as well.
I would love this feature too or ideally some way to automount my share on Meerkat connect.
i need this feature badly, too...
Since my last reply, I have moved on to a different piece of software that is FREE that does what i'm looking for and more. It creates a VPN between any computers you like. With the VPN in place you have access to any shared services by default (like iTunes music and home sharing, and file sharing, etc.).
Try Hamachi out: https://secure.logmein.com/products/hamachi2/
Hi,
i'm new to Meerkat and i'm trying the trial for now. This is one of the functionality i would like to see too, to avoid bugging my coworkers with my tunneled setup.
Thanks,
Pierre.

to make the demand above a little more precise:
i DO want my afp shares automatically to appear in my finder-sidebar but ONLY there and on no other computer on the lan.
