I just downloaded Pukka on my PowerPC G5 running 10.4.11. When I double-click the icon, I get the initial splash screen with a Quit button. Then a small screen shows up but is immediately covered up by the drop-down notice that I have only 14 more days before the demo runs out. My options are: Open License file, Later, and Register. When I click on Later, the window below closes and it appears that Pukka has closed down.
What am I doing wrong? I checked to make sure this works in Tiger OS and it does. Perhaps though it requires an Intel processor maybe???
Thanks!
Christi
You aren't a dunce at all. I apologize for the lack of obviousness about the start screen. In the initial release with that screen, there weren't even any arrows, so I added those. I will look into making it even more obvious that the squares are clickable.
Please don't hesitate to post about any other issues or comments you have with Pukka!
I ran into the same problem. If you have to use this huge introduction panel make the first step the important step: start using the application. And if there is a button "Quit" it should really quit the application, and not just close the window.
Imho the introduction panel should only have help related content, the Quit button should be "Use the Application" and there should be a checkbox "Show this window at next app start".
I've made some tweaks to this in the just-released Pukka 1.8.3. Hope it's a little clearer now.

When I got home today and installed my purchased copy of Pukka and I got the same Intro splash screen with what the only "apparent" option to Quit (which it did every single time I clicked on the Quit button), I figured I had to be missing something.
So for whatever it is worth, I'm guilting of NOT taking the time to read every word of the splash screen. I had no idea that the images on the opening screen were indeed clickable. I was trying like crazy to get into the Pukka Preferences but they were always grayed out.
May I highly recommend that you rework the Intro splash screen to make it VERY obvious that those images are clickable. I think they might have had a very faint "alias" type arrow in the lower right hand owner, but that's really not enough of a clue. Unfortunately, people these days know to fly through a splash screen so they can get to the real thing. I must admit, that's exactly what was happening with me over and over again (at least 5 times between work and home).
It would be even better if the screencast literally took you through the entire process starting with the splash screen of steps. Either that or put arrows that point to each one of the graphics.
Those are just a few tips for the developer.
I'm not quite excited to get to actually using Pukka! This will make keeping track of my bookmarks simple and way more powerful! Thank you for making such an awesome app!

PS -- Sorry for being such a dunce at the beginning! I'm a happy camper now that I can Pukka to my heart's content.
